Mural Progress - Almost Complete

After spending last summer in Europe walking the shores of the Irish Sea then later Lake Laumanne, the sun and the color blue remained with me. Back in America, I began "The Beach Series", a collection of drawings, watercolors and acrylic paintings on paper. They have been the ground work for this large scale mural. Not only inspired by nature, but also the human spirit, this work is an extensive exploration of the female nude. Influenced by Cezanne, Mattisse, Seurat and much Japanese subject matter, "The Bathers" is a narrative painting on women and the human condition originating in Greek mythology with the Goddess Diana and her Maidens.
