October 26th - Opening Reception: "Global Reach with Local Vision - Nature without Technology"

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2012 TO FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2012
The founders of BareWalls (The School of the Art Institute's decade and a half long fundraiser), and SAIC Alumni are together creating a visual narrative of images of Nature in and around Chicago. Mel Theobald, Vicky Tesmer, Jim Pryzdia, Jen N. Jessen Lunt, Sophia Pichinos and Scott Okin reflect on the importance of city parks, nature preserves, and the surrounding prairie land. Questions such as: Why does urbanity need the contribution and tranquility of nature to keep its evolving transcendence? What benefits come from our city parks, nature preserves and prairie land? How do they effect us as city dwellers? - are addressed in this exhibition. Photography, painting, drawing and sculpture exhibition.

Upcoming Classes

Fundamentals of Drawing and Painting Classes:

Study the classical approach to fine art with Vicky Tesmer's studio. Students learn line contour, classical drawing and painting, and develop skills in color mixing and spatial relations. Using a mixture of mediums, artists study portraiture, life drawing, still life and studying work of the masters.

Please see below for class schedules for the Young Artist Program and the Adult class schedule.

We do offer figure study drawing classes if there is a demand. Figure painting and drawing is the art of understanding human life - the flesh which covers the soul. There must be an interest in the subject - something the artist wants to say about the subject. It is a primary condition to painting the figure and portrait painting. The work is done when that special conversation has been found. The art teacher helps the artist find this dialog, preparing the artist with the necessary tools to self-express.

If your child is preparing a portfolio for high school or college admittance the cost is $600.00 for the 10 hour week session. (Two hour a day class.) Classes are being held in the studio or remotely. For inquiries please email me: tjartinc@ameritech.net. The studio prepares a portfolio jpeg visual file to attach to their applications. Remote classes can be scheduled with Vicky:

Two hour classes: $600 for six-class session

In studio classes are held:

Tuesdays: 3:30 to 5:30 or

Thursdays: 3:30 to 5:30 or

Saturdays: 11:00 to 1:00 p.m.

Six class in studio session is $600.00

Since graduating from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, artists have worked with Vicky Tesmer in her decorative arts business creating one-of-a-kind environments from hotel lobbies, residences, chapels, schools, restaurants and public art projects. Their talents have been used in a variety of mediums from murals to tile mosiac to creating full interiors and environmental designs. Artists around the world have interned with Tres Jolie Art, Inc. from Calcutta, India to Indonesia, Savannah, Georgia to Eureka, California. It has been a great experience for young artists and designers to learn practical skills in her studio. For more information please go to:
